Master Builders Victoria CEO Rebecca Casson appointed as Chairperson of the Victorian Government’s Building Industry Consultative Council

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) CEO Rebecca Casson has been appointed as Chairperson of the Victorian Government’s Building Industry Consultative Council (BICC) in another first for women in the State’s building and construction industry.

The BICC was established in 2001 as a high-level forum for discussion between employers, industry associations, unions and government on significant economic and industrial relations issues affecting the State’s building and construction industry.

The Master Builders Associations in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales have paid tribute to Metricon founder and CEO Mario Biasin.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr Biasin, who died unexpectedly on May 16, aged 71, will be held at Flemington Racecourse tomorrow (June 2).

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) CEO Rebecca Casson has been appointed to the Board of Master Builders Insurance Brokers (MBIB) – the first female Director in the organisation’s 18-year history.

MBV President Mark Little congratulated Ms Casson on her appointment to the MBIB Board.

“This is another watershed moment for MBV as we are the first MBIB shareholder to appoint a woman to that position,” Mr Little said.

“Rebecca was the first female CEO in MBV’s 147-year history, and she will now be MBIB’s first female Director.

MBV Continues Advocacy Work with New Government

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) congratulates the Australian Labor Party on its weekend election win and looks forward to working with the new Albanese Government over the next three years.

MBV CEO Rebecca Casson also congratulated Victorian-based Corio MP Richard Marles on his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister.

“Our industry is facing a critical time as it experiences unprecedented supply chain issues, skill shortages and ongoing price increases,” Ms Casson said.

Since its establishment in 1976, Mario has grown the Metricon business into one of Victoria’s premier home builders with an outstanding reputation for quality and excellence.

2022 Master Builders Victoria (MBV) State Apprentice of the Year awarded to Taye Cahoon at Marvel Stadium

A Melbourne carpenter has taken top honours at the 2022 Master Builders Victoria (MBV) State Apprentice of the Year Awards announced last night (Thursday 12 May 2022).

MBV President Mark Little presented the 2022 Master Builders Victoria State Apprentice of the Year to Taye Cahoon.

Taye, from Patterson Lakes, received his award in front of 500 guests at a gala celebration at Marvel Stadium.

Employed by the Anglim Group, Taye was nominated by his training provider Murray Mallee Training Company.
