MANAGING DIRECTOR OF HICKORY GROUP ELECTED AS CHAIR

The Building & Construction Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of George Abraham, Managing Director of Hickory Group, to the position of Chair.

Having graduated with 1st class honours from a degree in Construction Management, Mr Abraham was appointed as Managing Director of Hickory Group in 2019, the youngest ever director appointed to Hickory.

Building & Construction Foundation Director Viviana Hood said Mr Abraham had a natural ability to empower and unlock potential in others.

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) CEO Rebecca Casson has congratulated Daniel Andrews and the Victorian Labor Party on their election victory at the weekend.

“MBV congratulates Daniel Andrews on being re-elected Victorian Premier at this critical post-pandemic time in our state’s history,” Ms Casson said.

Ms Casson said MBV looked forward to working collaboratively with the Andrews Labor Government, the Opposition, and members of the Legislative Council in the 60th Parliament of Victoria.

After four years of outstanding leadership at the helm of Victoria’s peak building and construction industry body, Rebecca Casson will step down as CEO of Master Builders Victoria (MBV) on December 2, 2022. 

Ms Casson took on the role of CEO in 2019, leading the Association through a period of positive transformation and now leaving it as the foremost industry voice and authority representing the building and construction industry in Victoria.

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) has outlined several key initiatives in its State Election submission to ensure the building and construction work pipeline continues to support and grow the Victorian economy.

With the Victorian State Election due to be held on Saturday, November 26, MBV CEO Rebecca Casson said the MBV submission addressed skills shortages in building and construction, increased gender equity, housing affordability, and future-proofing the building and construction industry.
