The Building Leadership Simulation Centre (BLSC) hosted a delegation of 18 participants from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower on Friday 18 November 2016. The delegation led by Minister of State, Mr Sam Tan, travelled to Australia to glean insights on:

• Improving work health safety performance in the construction industry
• Strengthening work health safety competency training, and
• Injury prevention.

While at the BLSC, the delegation spoke with Master Builders CEO Radley de Silva, BLSC General Manager Marc Lyons, and OHS Adviser Sam Smith. After the presentations, the delegation toured the simulated working environment and control room where they received an overview of how the BLSC operates and delivers its world-class, fully immersive leadership programs. The highlight of their visit was the delegation’s teamwork in responding to a simulated onsite incident. This included some challenging interactions with site personnel. This saw some interesting feedback from the delegation members who were impressed by the realism of the training.

The BLSC will continue to work with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower to provide insights on their key work health and safety.
