The Building Appeals Board is a tribunal that deals with matters arising under the Building Act and the regulations made under that Act. This includes hearing and determining disputes regarding protection work, hearing appeals of decisions made by building surveyors and others and determining applications for dispensation to comply with the building regulations. Eric Riegler is the Chairperson of the Building Appeals Board.
In this presentation, he will give an overview of the operation of the Building Appeals Board and how its functions and jurisdiction impact on the building industry and the work of building practitioners.
