As sponsors of 3AW, one of the radio stations our members tune into most frequently, Master Builders had the opportunity to spend some time on the air talking about the history of our association and fielding questions about home building from interested consumers. On Saturday 28 July, President Melanie Fasham and General Manager Marketing, Policy and Communications Leanne Edwards sat down at the microphone at 3AW’s studio in Docklands as guests on Darren James’ weekend breakfast show, and launched a lively discussion with listeners eager to ask a broad range of questions.
Melanie and Leanne began by offering some clear context for her audience, describing our long history, the types of memberships available and the range of services our members enjoy. Early on, there were some questions about aluminium cladding and the procedures and costs for rectification works. Following on from this, a few consumers shared their positive experiences with working Master Builders on their own building and renovation projects, and a pair of callers had contract issues for which they needed advice to resolve. In each case, Melanie and Leanne were well-prepared to direct the listeners to the best information available, be it within one of Master Builders’ own departments or through other organizations, such as the Victorian Building Authority, on whom Victorians rely for vital information about building legislation.
Melanie’s and Leanne’s appearance helped to reinforce the message that asking the question, ‘Is your builder a Master Builder?’ remains one of the quickest ways to ensure the best solution for your building needs.
