Master Builders Victoria (MBV) has launched our International Research Project to help identify opportunities for best practice to support Victoria's building and construction industry post-COVID.
And we need your help!

Given the multitude of challenges that continue to impact Victoria's building and construction industry, the MBV Board has approved this timely research. Through this project, MBV will examine a range of topics including best-practice skills, training, and migration; investigate emerging trends including alternative supply chains and materials; innovation in sustainable building practices, and regulatory reform insights.

Whilst this research project is not intended to be the panacea, it is the first stage of our sector’s post-COVID global re-engagement and works towards future-proofing our industry.

The study tour component of MBV's research project will be an investment into the confidence of Victoria’s building and construction industry. It will showcase Victoria internationally and gather knowledge and real-world experiences to ensure that Victoria’s building and construction industry continues to be an international leader. For participants, it can provide first-hand insights into how key overseas counterparts in our industry are solving some of the issues Australia faces.

Informed by research, the potential locations on the study tour include the UK (London/Birmingham), Europe (Brussels), Canada (Toronto), and the US (New York/Washington). It is expected that the study tour will be conducted in late October 2022.

Participants are required to self-fund their place on the study tour, including airfares, transfers, food and beverages, and accommodation. Expressions of interest for participation in the study tour are now open. However, please note that places are limited.

MBV is pleased to announce our founding International Research Project Sponsors.

MBV cannot undertake this immense research task alone, so please get in touch if you would like to join us as a project sponsor and contribute to the project.

We thank our founding International Research Project Sponsors for helping us to launch this research project:
