A stunning Traralgon home designed with a meticulous eye for detail to deliver comfortable, effortless living and the renovation of the Newhaven College Performing Arts Centre at Rhyll, have been rewarded with top honours at the 2023 South East Master Builders Victoria Regional Building Awards.

Brendan Jones Building from Glengarry took out the title of 2023 MBV Regional Residential Builder of the Year, South East for a stunning contemporary home utilising inspiring angles and materials.

While TS Constructions from Wonthaggi was awarded the title of 2023 MBV Regional Commercial Builder of the Year, South East for their innovative and bold approach to the renovation of the Newhaven College Performing Arts Centre.

The two top awards were among 21 awards for display homes, custom homes, commercial buildings, and renovations and additions announced at a gala dinner at Lardner Park on Friday night in front of more than 150 guests.

Master Builders Victoria CEO, Michaela Lihou congratulated the major winners on their outstanding successes, saying they epitomised the very best of the talent and commitment of the Victorian building industry.

“To recognise so many outstanding projects that have been undertaken in these awards is truly heartening and a huge accolade to our regional building community,” she said.

“Our warmest congratulations to all our winners and finalists, especially to the teams from Brendan Jones Building and TS Constructions!”

A closer look at the winning residential project shows a home designed to suit the client’s lifestyle which includes all the features for the clients to live effortlessly and comfortably, now and into the future.

The design of this home had been thought out with meticulous attention to detail, from the impressive street statement to the use of modern contemporary fixtures and fittings, home automation and beautifully landscaped gardens, a truly impressive build.

The winning commercial project, the renovation of the Newhaven College Performing Arts Centre, called for innovative and interesting combinations, rather the usual stereotypical school buildings.

Unconventional choices, bright colours, new double-glazed windows which maximise light and minimise thermal intrusion and provide a visual appeal both internally and externally, all combine to deliver a stunning result.

Both Brendan Jones Building and TS Constructions will now go on to compete at this year’s Victorian Excellence in Construction Awards, being held at Crown Palladium in Melbourne on Friday, August 11.
