Five Victorian building regulators are taking part in a joint inspection program across building, construction and demolition sites in the Shepparton area to check whether operators are complying with the law.

Build Aware is an event involving the Victorian Building Authority, WorkSafe, Consumer Affairs Victoria, Energy Safe and the Environment Protection Authority.

The program aims to ensure that people working on sites understand their obligations to comply with building, construction, environment, plumbing and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.

Inspectors will visit sites from Monday 10 to Friday 14 September  to check that workers are complying with the laws and regulations administered by their authorities.
