The Andrews Labor Government will no longer pursue penalties against the CFMEU in the Supreme Court over the alleged secondary boycott against Boral. This follows Boral’s settlement with the CFMEU last week, where the CFMEU agreed to pay up to $9 million in damages and legal costs.
The decision means that the Victorian government potentially forfeits more than $1 million in penalties against the CFMEU.
