Women in construction
$5 million has been allocated over three years for the Women in Construction Program. This funding will deliver on the actions outlined in the Women in Construction Strategy, and to implement the Building Equality Policy by creating employment opportunities for women in a male-dominated environment.
As programs and campaigns are rolled out, we will keep members informed about how they can get involved.
Improving planning processes
The Victorian Government will invest $111 million to help loosen blockages in Victoria’s planning system, aiming to accelerate delivery of major projects and boosting construction of social and affordable housing.
The Victorian Budget 2020/21 provides $38 million to improve planning processes. To drive investment in big projects, the Government will create a new assessment model for development proposals greater than $50 million.
