Master Builders Victoria will be providing a submission to the 2021-2022 Victorian State Budget. To aid in the development of our submission, members are invited to provide feedback on what they think this year’s state budget should include. Examples of areas where Master Builders Victoria has focused on in previous state budget submission include:

• Jobs and training
• Taxation relief
• Regulatory relief
• Building quality
• Governance and planning
• Workplace relations and occupational health and safety

In the last state budget in 2020, we advocated for strong stimulus measures such as payroll tax relief, cuts to stamp duty, and investment into social housing. These measures were successfully included in the state budget and have proven vital in addressing the COVID-19 induced economic downturn. With the industry and the economy on the road to recovery, we will be focusing on measures that will sustain this recovery for the months and years ahead in this year’s state budget.
