Master Builders Victoria (MBV) is closely monitoring the progress of Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) within Victoria and across the other states and territories. It is important that our members are aware that this legislation is not currently applicable to the building and construction industry.

Several state and territory governments have opted to apply a 12-month exemption from 1 July 2021 to the building and construction industry, and Victoria is included in this extension. MBV will continue to work closely with the Victorian Building Authority and Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on the introduction of AMR.
