Aphi Projects Pty Ltd from Geelong took out the title of 2024 MBV Regional Residential Builder of the Year, West for the beautifully crafted lakeside home which presented significant challenges to fulfill the high-quality levels of insulation and drainage which needed to be incorporated.

While Nicholson Construction from Ballarat was awarded the title of 2024 MBV Regional Commercial Builder of the Year, West for the Boronggook Drysdale Library which is a high-quality community building, featuring high performance environmental and sustainable design and is part of the City of Geelong’s UNESCO design city accreditation program. 

The two top awards were among 25 awards for display homes, custom homes, commercial buildings, and renovations announced at a gala dinner on Friday, June 28 at the RACV Resort in Torquay in front of 265 guests.

Master Builders Victoria CEO, Michaela Lihou congratulated the major winners on their outstanding successes, saying they showcased the very best of the Victorian building industry.

“It is always exciting to celebrate the talented and passionate results that our members continue to deliver for their clients, even during these challenging times,” she said.

“Our warmest congratulations to all our winners and finalists, especially to the teams from Aphi Projects and Nicholson Construction.”

Aphi Projects will now go on to complete on behalf of the Western Region at this year’s MBV Excellence in Housing Awards, being held at Palladium Crown, on Friday October 11.

While Nicholson Construction will compete on behalf of the Western Region at this year’s MBV Excellence in Construction Awards, being held at Palladium Crown, on Friday August 9.
