Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), a free and independent service available to both builders and home owners, launched on 26 April (www.dbdrv.vic.gov.au).

The service reports that by 10 May, over 500 applications had been received, including 108 on the first day of operation.

The new Building Information Line, launched on the same day, has received an average of 130 calls per day, providing advice on the most appropriate path for callers to take. A number of cases were resolved by DBDRV within the first 10 days of launch, including early telephone resolution and on-site building assessment and conciliation.
