The Victorian Government today circulated a media release describing a program designed to help displaced workers from the automotive industry to transition into new jobs. Minister for Industry and Employment Wade Noonan and Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny announced $2.7 million in grants to create 130 new jobs under the Local Industry Fund for Transition (LIFT) program.
Master Builders Association of Victoria recognises the potential for prefabricated construction to offer similar opportunities to offset unemployment from the closure of automobile manufacturing. Investment in construction technology has been a priority for Master Builders in order to help ensure the construction workforce grows to meet the needs of an ever-expanding Victorian population.
