In a media release issued today, Master Builders Australia CEO Wilhelm Harnisch expressed support for the stand taken in Parliament by Senator Hon. Michaelia Cash against union aggression toward women, including those who perform Fair Work Building and Construction Inspector roles.

“As a community we do not tolerate violence against women in the home; we don’t tolerate violence and intimidation in the workplace and therefore it follows that it must not be tolerated on building sites,” Mr Harnisch said.

“Master Builders strongly backs Minister Cash’s call for the restoration of the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC) which was previously successful in promoting a healthier workplace culture on the nation’s building sites,” he said.
