Master Builders Australia has spoken in favour of a call for a Senate inquiry into the issue of non-conforming building products (NCPs).
In an article posted on the MBA website CEO Wilhelm Harnisch said he supported the call by Senators Nick Xenophon, Jacqui Lambie and John Madigan for a Senate inquiry into NCPs, explaining “We welcome the recognition of the seriousness of the problem NCPs pose to the building and construction industry, commercial and residential builders and the safety of the community.”
“It is vital that building products comply with Australian standards and regulations regardless of their point of origin,” he said.
