Workplace accidents seem to occur with greater frequency as we enter the holiday season. Distractions increase and pressure mounts to complete projects as the days left in 2015 become fewer. To that end, WorkSafe Victoria has issued a renewed call to exercise extra care in the workplace, following the occurrence of seven deaths within a three-week period.

“We know that many businesses are rushing to finish projects so deadline pressures may be a factor,” WorkSafe Executive Director of Health and Safety Marnie Williams said. “And we know that many fatalities involve experienced workers doing routine jobs…”
