National unemployment figures were released during the week, that illustrate the effect of COVID-19 and why measures like Homebuilder are required to stimulate the economy and bring back these jobs. The national unemployment rate in May was 7.1 per cent which is the highest figure for 19 years.

In Victoria, 30,000 more people became unemployed during May, and since this time last year 77,000 more people are unemployed. The raw figures suggest that Victoria has been affected more than any other state, which would have multiple effects on our industry.
