A meticulously constructed Albert Park home has earned Imperial Builders the title of 2015 Master Builder of the Year (Residential).
Nearly 750 guests attended the Master Builders Excellence in Building Awards at Crown Palladium tonight to join in the celebration of Imperial Builders’ achievement and recognise other high achievers in residential construction.
The two-storey, three-bedroom Albert Park residence makes distinctive use of a broad palette of textures and materials in defining the living spaces, and includes an illuminated display of the owner’s wine collection behind triple-glazed panels. A central feature of the home is an infinity-edge reflection pool, visible to each of the rooms that surround it.
“The winning home this year impressed the judges on numerous levels,” Master Builders Association of Victoria CEO Radley de Silva said. “In addition to being well constructed, it is also texturally rich and inspiringly atmospheric.”
“The reflection pool at the home’s centre delivers a placid calm to the rooms that envelop it,” he said.
“On Master Builders’ 140th anniversary, we are delighted to have such high-calibre projects as this representing the work of our members. Imperial Builders has demonstrated amply the sophistication and craftsmanship Victorian Master Builders can bring to an ambitious residential project,” Mr de Silva said.
Among the other major winners is Kinglake West builder Camson Homes, named Regional Master Builder of the Year for work on a Tallarook home and Warragul builder Leigh Allchin who was named Young Builder of the Year.
Imperial Builders will now go on to compete at the 2015 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards on the Gold Coast on 14 November.
