Rebecca called on consumers to do their part and conduct research and due diligence to ensure they are engaging the services of legitimate building industry practitioners. She described the importance of always using registered builders and trades people.

"It's important that they're qualified, knowledgeable and experienced and they're registered with the Victorian Building Authority, so that means they're covered by appropriate insurances," she said.
