Following a previous ACCC notification of Infinity brand cables, further distributors have now been announced. The cables do not comply with electrical safety standard AS/NZS 5000.

It is estimated that about 40,000 households and business could be affected by this recall. The recall applies to Infinity cables supplied between 2012 and 2013 in Victoria.

New Victorian suppliers that have been added to the list of those on recall include:
• ABC Arian Electrical Suppliers
• Phoenix Wholesalers
• Titan Trading
• Wholesale Electrical Supplies.

A further two suppliers have already remediated the cable that they supplied; one in Queensland and one in Victoria.

“This is an additional reminder to homeowners and electricians to be aware of the Infinity cable issue,” ACCC Chairman Rod Sims said.

“We also urge electricians and builders to alert their consumers and their cable supplier if they have installed Infinity cables.”
