On 18 June, Master Builders held an information session that provided members with an update on the Heydon Royal Commission proceedings and Taskforce Heracles.

Taskforce Heracles was established to examine allegations referred to it by the Heydon Royal Commission as well as any intelligence directly relating to criminal activity by rogue elements within the union movement. The Taskforce consists of detectives from the Victoria Police fraud and extortion squad and the Australian Federal Police.

Representatives from Taskforce Heracles were introduced at the session by Victoria Police Assistant Commissioner Stephen Fontana and provided a great insight to those in attendance on the role of the Taskforce, and the opportunity it provides to establish the rule of law in the industry.
