The ABCC has released a new, streamlined form (and instructions) to help head contractors ensure that their Workplace Relations Management Plan (WRMP) is compliant under the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016 (Building Code 2016). The form contains a number of pre-approved template responses that head contractors can either adopt or modify. Alternatively, head contractors can create their own entries in the form should they wish.
Members are reminded that head contractors are required to submit a WRMP when tendering for Commonwealth funded building work subject to Building Code 2016, where the Commonwealth’s contribution to the project that contains building work is $5 million or more and this represents at least 50 per cent of the total construction project value, or where the Commonwealth contributes $10 million or more, irrespective of what percentage of the total construction project value that represents.
Master Builders commends the ABCC for its new, streamlined approach to WRMPs, and its commitment to reducing administrative red tape and promoting greater efficiencies in the industry.
