The Victorian State Government announced today that the CEO of Master Builders Victoria, Rebecca Casson, will be appointed to the implementation taskforce to introduce workplace fatalities laws. The new Implementation Taskforce will be led by former Minister for Industrial Relations Natalie Hutchins, and comprises members from unions, business and victims’ families.
“Master Builders agrees that one workplace fatality is too many,” said Master Builders Victoria CEO, Rebecca Casson.
“The key issue is ensuring that fair and pragmatic safety solutions are achieved, that have real impacts on performance in the workplace.”
“Master Builders will advocate on the taskforce for reforms that avoid disproportionate impacts on officers and businesses and maintain appropriate accountability for behaviour in the workplace.”
