Many members are asking what they should do if they or a member of the team has been in close contact with someone who has been at a listed COVID-19 exposure site.
You must quarantine if you have been identified by the Department of Health as a primary or secondary close contact of a positive case having been to a public exposure site.
People who are determined to be either primary or secondary close contacts will be contacted by the department. See https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/what-do-if-you-are-close-contact
If a member of your team or household has been in close contact with someone who has been at one of the listed public exposure sites (not the positive case – see above), then as a precaution and until directed by Department of Health, our best advice is the following:
- If you have been in close contact with someone who was at a tier 1 site get tested, treat this as Tier 2 exposure – get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.
- If you have been in close contact with someone who was at a tier 2 site, monitor yourself for symptoms and if in any doubt, get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.
- If you have been in close contact with someone who was at a tier 3 site, monitor for symptoms and if in any doubt, get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.
Now more than ever it's important we keep our industry open, by doing the right thing and staying COVID safe.
So please, stay safe and protect yourself, our community and our industry.
