This afternoon, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews made more announcements about further lockdown measures for some parts of Melbourne. The first part of the announcement is that at 11.59pm tonight, two more postcodes will be added to the ten postcodes announced on Tuesday to go back into Stage 3 lockdown.

The postcodes are:
3031 (Flemington, Kensington)
3051 (North Melbourne)

The restrictions that will apply to these postcodes will not prevent our industry from continuing to work in them, or individuals who live within them from continuing work. Below this message we have added Tuesday's message, which gives all details relevant on how the two new postcodes will be treated.

In addition, the Premier has moved to completely lockdown nine public housing towers in these areas. 
The addresses of those buildings are:

• 120,126 & 130 Racecourse Rd, Flemington
• 12 Holland Court, Flemington 
• 159 Melrose Street, Flemington
• 12 Sutton Street, North Melbourne
• 33 Alfred Street, North Melbourne 
• 76 Canning Street, North Melbourne
• 9 Pampas Street, North Melbourne

These buildings house approx 3,000 residents, and residents will not be able to leave those buildings under any circumstances for at least five days (and possibly as many as 14 days). So anybody who works in our industry who resides in one of those buildings will not be permitted to work outside of their home. If you know of employees who have had contact with anyone in those buildings it is important they take the appropriate testing and isolation precautions.

This afternoon, the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews made some significant announcements about regressing to stronger lockdown measures for some parts of Melbourne due to spikes in COVID-19 cases.

The ten postcodes that will go back into Stage 3 lockdown are:

The lockdown measures take effect at 11:59pm tomorrow, 1 July, 2020 and will be in place until at least 29 July, 2020 (four weeks). 

There are only four things people living in these areas can leave home for:

• Shopping for food and supplies
• care and caregiving
• exercise
• and study or work – if you can’t do it from home 

WHAT IT MEANS FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES:

• If you live in one of these postcodes you can continue to travel outside for work if required
• If you work in one of these postcodes you can continue to travel into those postcodes if required
• Its important that if you live in these postcodes you return back home directly after work
• There will be 'booze bus-style' vehicle checks in some areas for cars going in and out of those postcodes. It's important for those travelling in and out of those postcodes that they are aware of this for possibly longer travel times, and to be ready to provide correct information about where they are working     
• Those living and working in all other parts of Melbourne and Victoria must be vigilant in following current protocols and restrictions so as to minimise any risk of these measures being introduced elsewhere, and for all of our collective health
