Master Builders Victoria (MBV) has been working closely with Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on the Building Amendment (Registration and Other Matters) Bill 2021 (the Bill) that is currently before the Victorian Parliament. Once the Bill passes through parliament a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) and a draft set of regulations will be released for consultation.

The RIS is expected to set out how the new Trades Registration and Licensing scheme will be introduced. Once the RIS and draft regulations are released MBV will be seeking your views and feedback on how the new Registration and Licensing framework should be introduced.

MBV acknowledge how important it will be for Government to get the framework correct, without  adding additional stress to the industry, particularly whilst the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our industry.
